The ‘Big Boys’ Are Out Tonight In South Florida

In Davie, the Western Wildcats will have their final tune up before the start of summer – as the Wildcats once again have plans to make a solid run at a state title in 2024.

With a date in the Broward County National Football Showcase in August against longtime Alabama power, head coach Adam Ratkevich and his team start the countdown with plenty of talent.

The annual instar-squad scrimmage will be held this evening on campus at 6:30.

In Fort Lauderdale, the five-time defending state champion St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders end their spring with a 5 p.m. game.

This is a program that once again will be nationally-rated and will enter the Broward County National Showcase against defending national champion Las Vegas Bishop Gorman.

Head Coach Roger Harriott and his team have plenty of talent and will look toward and amazing sixth straight state title.

They have a very challenging schedule in 2024.

Also in Fort Lauderdale, the Coconut Creek Monarch Knights, who came within one quarter of getting to their first ever state football championship, will put an end to their very productive spring with a 6:30 contest at Fort Lauderdale.

Head Coach Calvin Davis and his team have reloaded and are more than ready for another run.

They will also take part in the Broward County National Football Showcase for the second straight year.

They will prepare to welcome Georgia power Peachtree Ridge.

One of the other programs who will take part in the Broward National Showcase will also be in action this evening when the Plantation American Heritage Patriots will play their annual instar-squad game on campus at 6 p.m.

This is a team, coached by Mike Smith, that lost in the state semifinals. Loaded with several weapons on both sides of the ball.

As they prepare for the opening games of the season against defending Georgia state champion, Milton, have some unfinished business to take care of this coming season.

The final team that will be in action tonight is Miami Central. No team has been so focused and motivated as the Rockets and head coach Jube Joseph, who missed the state finals for the first time in four years when they were beaten twice by Miami Norland.

The Rockets will blast off at 7 p.m. at Traz Powell Stadium in their annual spring instar-squad matchup – as they look to end the month with a solid performance with some new faces.

The Rockets will play Ocala Vanguard in the kickoff classic and get ready for defending state champions Lakeland to officially open the 2024 season.
