Week 5 - Huge Clash At Traz Powell This Evening

No. 5 Plantation American Heritage vs. No. 2 Miami Central, 7:30. Before the 2024 high school football season began, there was a promise made that every week during the regular season, you would be able to see a marquee game.

As week 5 is under way, the spotlight shifts back to “Mecca” – Traz Powell Stadium for Miami-Dade vs. Broward matchup between two programs who know what it’s like to play in huge games.

The Plantation American Heritage Patriots roll into town with an unexpected 2-2 record but have shown that they can compete with anyone.

Head Coach Mike Smith and his team rebounded from a tough loss to Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna with a win at Naples.

They will play their third consecutive road game tonight and are out to show that they can get back on track.

For the Patriots to get back on track, they will need to beat a Central team that has rebounded from the opening night loss to No. 1 Lakeland – with three consecutive wins. But head coach Jube Joseph and his team realize that the program lining up on the other side of the ball is more than battle tested with some quality opponents under their belt.

To win the game, the Rockets will need to stop a high-power offensive attack that can run and throw.

Central comes into the game with plenty of confidence, believing a win will only set the tone in 3A, where rival Miami Northwestern will be coming up in two weeks.
