THE JAGUARS FILE
Head Coach: Cameron Thomas
2021 Record: 6-3
THE SCOOP
With a playoff appearance in 2021, this is a program that has arrived.
If you have followed this team through the years, you know the one thing that has always lacked is consistency – and that was not the case last year.
With wins over Coral Springs, Taravella, West Broward, Flanagan, Cypress Bay and Coral Springs Charter, the Jaguars did something positive, and the prospects responded.
As the spring is officially getting started at the end of next week, keep your eye on this program – as rising seniors will combine with optimistic and gifted underclassmen.
The future looks bright as winning football is alive in western Broward County.

While there are several camps and combines as well as 7-on-7 tournaments that emphasize quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, defensive backs and linebackers, the linemen are often short-changed when it comes to exposure.
But with group like Crafting Linemen and Torrian Wilson, that perception is changing – for the better.
Exposure events showcase talented offensive and defensive linemen – and provide that instruction and exposure needed.
Last Saturday, Ives Park in North Miami Dade County was the place to be for the Pre-Spring Crafting Linemen event as several talented “big men” came together, and by the time things ended, players and their coaches and parents left with a positive feeling.
With spring football right around the corner, it was time for these high school athletes (classes 2023-2026) to get that exposure needed.
They came from Georgia, Tampa, Port St. Lucie, Clearwater and throughout south Florida to get a jump on the rest of the competition, as colleges and universities will be down soon to check these young men out.
TOP PERFORMERS STAND OUT
As is the case in any event that you attend, there are those athletes who come to learn and those who are there to showcase their many talents.
Among the standouts on Saturday included:
2023
Antawon Foulkes (OL, Pompano Beach Blanche Ely), Aiden Martinez (OL, Miami Belen Jesuit) and Judah Michel (DL, Port St. Lucie Centennial).
2024
Michael Brennan (OL, Weston Cypress Bay), Joseph Ionata (OL, Clearwater Calvary Christian), Keion Reyes (OL, Miami Central), Jonathan Rodriguez (OL, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons) and Elyjah Thurmon (OL, Bradwell Institute, Georgia).
“Very impressive group of linemen,” Wilson said. “ I was really bowled over by the young prospects who did so well. It shows that we are in great hands for years to come on both sides of the line.”
THERE WERE OTHERS AS WELL
In addition to those standouts, several other linemen – on both sides of the ball – were also looking impressive and turning heads as well:
2023
Christopher Alexandre, OL, Fort Lauderdale Dillard
Isaac Jean-Baptiste, OL, Hialeah Barbara Goleman
Logan Buice, OL, West Boca Raton

When it comes to competing, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties have never been shy about getting to every event and matching their skill level.
Last Sunday at the Paradise Sports Complex in Naples, several Miami-Dade and Broward athletes were part of the Prep Redzone Showcase.
With athletes coming from all over the state, and college coaches from Ave Maria University, St. Thomas University and Keiser – along with high school coaches – heads were turned and stars were born.
With rising seniors (2023), juniors (2024) and sophomores (2025) taking the field, all eyes were on athletes who continue to compete year-round against the best.
“These athletes out here are really gifted,” said Keiser University linebacker coach Nick Vagnone. “Speed, strength, agility and plenty of size seem to be a trademark of Florida athletes. We have the pleasure of recruiting these young men throughout the year, so we know what kind of talent level there is.”
Among the Class of 2023 prospects on hand were linebackers Justin Coles (St. Thomas Aquinas) and Jaizaih Lugo (Miami Northwestern), who both were impressive in drills and 1-on-1s.
Archbishop McCarthy running back Dominic Coroscio and Miami Palmetto offensive lineman Victor Pino were also head-turners during the event.
Defensive standouts Devin Pein (DE, St. Thomas Aquinas) and Andres Quiroz (DL, Miami Coral Reef) also benefitted from attending the event as well.
The Class of 2024 also rolled out some gifted prospects, who not only tested well, but when the competition came on, Torra “TJ” Kelly (DB, Deerfield Beach) and David “Tank” Pein (DL, St. Thomas Aquinas) opened some eyes. So did Doral Academy quarterback Fabian Rodriguez, who displayed a big, accurate arm.
CLASS OF 2025 STEALS THE SHOW
With two of the best rising sophomores in the nation on hand, the event gained instant credibility.
Miami Belen Jesuit defensive lineman Davion Dixon and Miami Central linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin showcasing their skills, campers and coaches were amazed and surprised by the talent level by such young players.
Both prospects were huge last season as freshmen – with Marcelin helping to lead the Central Rockets to a third consecutive state title.
Other Class of 2025 performers standing out in Naples – included Jason Barket (QB, Miami Westminster Christian), Sinorice Moss Jr. (RB, Davie Western), Jack Spaeder (QB, Miami Dade Christian) and Chance Washington (RB, Davie Western), who all made the most of their chances to put their names of their – as college coaches watched, instructed and evaluated.

THE WOLVERINES FILE
Head Coach: Don Chaney Sr.
2021 Record: 4-4
THE SCOOP
Over the past few seasons since taking over the program, head coach Don Chaney Sr. has developed a year-round program, dedicated to exposure and teach his football players so much about the sport.
As the Wolverines aim toward a spring showdown with Homestead South Dade, the objective has remained the same – with the focus on academics and getting better on the football field.
Loaded with some of the top young talent in south Florida, this is a team that many will want to keep an eye on in 2022. While depth may be a problem, the athletes that this program rolls out every week has the ability to make some huge things happen.
While the senior class is small, there is enough leadership, along with the returning student/athletes to make some positives happen.
