It’s no secret that this program has not been where it has in the past for quite some time – and while the talent has been available – things were not falling in place.
At a program that has produced its share of talent and outstanding teams through the years, some new blood was brought in to get this ball rolling once again.
With several prospects on the roster, teaching and getting these players to compete at a higher level was the objective in the spring and will be that way moving into the summer.

THE SCOOP
After putting together a number of winning seasons, things fell off last year for this quality program.
What 2021 seemed to be about was streak and not consistent play, resulting in a rare losing record.
Despite making the playoffs, losing in the opening round to Miami Booker T. Washington, it was truly an up and down season for veteran head coach Kirk Hoza and his Eagles.
While there were losses to Fort Pierce John Carroll, Clewiston, 4A power Cardinal Gibbons, North Palm Beach Benjamin and Clearwater Central Catholic, there were some bright spots.
Wins against Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest (35-0), Coral Springs Taravella (55-0), Coral Springs (42-6) and West Palm Beach The King’s Academy (42-27) certainly gave this program promise.
As the spring produced some quality performances, this team heads into the summer with standout players and renewed enthusiasm.

The quest to build a winning program is something that players and coaches strive for each and every season.
Coming off a year where this team came up with key wins against Miami Ferguson (38-30), Miami Varela (31-27), Doral Ronald Reagan (41-21) and Hialeah American (10-7), the Bulldogs closed the year, winning four of its last five games, and in the process, moved into the off-season with a great feeling.
After a solid spring, the summer will feature camps, combines and 7-on-7 events as this program continues to build.

After a solid spring showing, here is a team that you may want to pay attention to in 2022.
Impressive coaching and prospects who continue to develop and learn more about the game.
Even in the spring games against Hollywood Avant Garde Academy and Coral Springs Coral Glades, you could see how far the Bobcats have come, and the best is yet to come.
Despite losing to Weston Cypress Bay, Hollywood South Broward, Coral Glades and power Davie Western, there were also bright moments.
Victories against Hollywood McArthur (9-7), Coral Springs Taravella (49-3), Pembroke Pines Charter (29-0) and South Plantation (23-0) gave this program plenty of momentum coming into the off-season.

There is no getting around the fact that one of the major surprises in 2021 were the Bulldogs.
Winning eight of 10 games with a very young team and a coaching staff that was still feeling their way into the system, this program certainly made a huge impact, making the playoffs.
While they lost a powerful Homestead squad in the opening round, this group of gifted prospects would only drop one more contest, and that came to a playoff team in Miramar.
Along the way, they got by Davie Nova (42-0), Pembroke Pines Flanagan (29-6), Pembroke Pines West Broward (21-10), South Plantation (44-6), Miramar Everglades (35-0), North Miami (28-22), Hollywood McArthur (28-7) and Cooper City (28-14).
With a solid spring behind them, this team rolls into the summer with another young team, but one that has plenty of potential.
